Te Wāhi means ‘the place’ in te reo Māori, reflecting both the importance of terroir and the sense of finding our second home. It is a powerful wine with an opulent core of dark berry fruit and structured tannins. Over time, warm spices and notes of forest floor flourish and provide complexity.

How does Te Wāhi 2012 taste?

One of our early vintages of Te Wāhi, before we had purchased our Northburn vineyard, home of the Cloudy Bay Shed. This blend of Bendigo, Bannockburn and Lowburn fruit is redolent with raspberry, boysenberry and Christmas cake notes, with hints of savoury herbs and spices providing balance and complexity.
