The evening was a feast for the senses. The menu championed the best in New Zealand produce, with Cloudy Bay wines further elevating the cuisine, curated to match each dish with delicate precision. Tables were adorned with vibrant florals, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere and a stunning focal point for the event.
For guests, the night began with a memorable first sip: a glass of our exquisite 2006 Pelorus Vintage Magnum. This was paired with prawn sesame brioche – talk about a combo that gets your taste buds dancing!
As the evening unfolded, our team, including Central Otago Vineyard Manager Derek, welcomed guests. Derek shared his heartfelt excitement about hosting some of the most long-standing and valued friends of Cloudy Bay. He shared stories and insights, unveiling the exclusive wines that would flow throughout the night – wines that will soon find their way into the upcoming Cloudy Bay Circle shipment.
A standout moment was the debut of our 2024 Sauvignon Blanc, celebrating our 40th vintage. Guests were among the first to taste this quintessentially Cloudy Bay wine ahead of its official launch. A perfect pairing with smoked clams, coconut custard, and finger lime had everyone grinning from ear to ear. Throughout the night guests were spoiled for choice, savouring the 2021 Founders’ Cellar Mustang Chardonnay, along with the 2021 Te Koko and 2021 Te Wahi – wines that can exclusively be enjoyed at our Cellar Door or through the Cloudy Bay Circle. The evening finished on yet another high note, with our 2021 Founders’ Cellar Syrah matched with a unique Tête de Moine and a divine roasted white chocolate tart.
