Wonderscape NZ 2023

To us, hosting is second nature. For as long as we’ve been making wine, we’ve loved entertaining guests from around the world - and even around the neighbourhood.

That’s why we created Wonderscape, a series of global long lunches in the most unexpected places in nature. Wonderscape celebrates the art of entertaining by bringing together creatives from all walks of life to share the simple pleasure of a long lunch in a beautiful natural environment.

Just like Cloudy Bay, Wonderscape has its roots firmly planted in New Zealand, with the most recent event held in the breathtaking gardens of Hay’s House in Coatesville. It was a celebration of what we enjoy in life: sharing the outdoors, great food and exceptional wine with creative and interesting people.

Seafood, citrus and simple sophistication were all on the menu, from kingfish crudo with yuzu & green chilli to citrus and jalapeño marinated King Salmon. Locally sourced ingredients are a core element of Wonderscape-style dining: Waimauku tomatoes, Clevedon cheeses, Cloudy Bay clams, and much more delivered distinctly New Zealand flavours.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a New Zealand experience without pavlova for dessert. And, of course, each course was matched with a Cloudy Bay wine - and for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, it meant joining Sauvignon Blanc in brand new bottles. See our full range of wines through the link below.


This Wonderscape was also a welcome for our Sauvignon Blanc 2023, now available to buy through our website and coming soon to wine retailers in New Zealand. Sauvignon Blanc’s vibrant, fresh and aromatic style is a perfect match for summer lunches, pairing beautifully with seafood and salads (a quick tip: if it goes with lemon, it goes with Sauvignon Blanc).

A toast to the host
